Putting your Farmland to Work: Planning, Production, Marketing and More!!!

There are many opportunities in NC for the small, part-time farmer.  To explore several options, a regional conference will be held on Friday, February 3rd entitled “Putting Your Farmland to Work:  Planning, Production, Marketing & More!!”  The conference will take place at the Warren County Armory Civic Center and will run from 8 am until 4 pm.  Participants will be able to attend a variety of workshops to learn about “Putting your Farm Land to Work”.  The topics will include:

** Getting Started
** Marketing
** Vegetable Production
** Small Fruit Production
** Eggs & Poultry
** Farm Business Planning
** Food Safety for Small Farmers

All participants will receive a resource notebook that will contain information presented throughout the day.  If registration and payment are received by January 25th, the cost is only $25 and includes a resource notebook, refreshments, and lunch (only $15 for additional attendees from the same farm/family).  After January 25th, registration is $30 per person.  For more information and a registration form, contact your County Extension Center in Warren (252-257-3640), Franklin (919-496-3344), Vance (252-438-8188), or Granville (919-603-1350).  The registration form is also available at http://go.ncsu.edu/farm2work.
