NC Farm School: An Educational Value for New and Transitioning Farmers

— Written By

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Eastern Piedmont NC Farm School for new and transitioning farmers in Franklin, Nash, Wake, and Warren Counties as well as surrounding areas! Nowhere else can you learn from specialists and current farmers about budgeting skills, marketing expertise, and record keeping. Participants even get to visit local farms in supporting counties to see how these farms operate.

Almost half of those who graduate will go on to start new or diversified ventures from the information they have learned. Holly, a graduate of the NC Farm Schools program, says, “The budgets and the business side is something I would never been able to gain on my own with NC Farm School.”  To learn more about the Eastern Piedmont Farm School, and to hear more testimonies from graduates of NC Farm Schools, visit http://ncfarmschools.ces.ncsu.edu or your local Cooperative Extension Office.  Applications are required.  Spaces are limited.
