N.C. Cooperative Extension, Stokes County Center’s livestock program was recently awarded an AgSouth Growing Our Communities Grant to purchase a panel trailer. We are excited to use this funding to make an existing resource more available to Stokes County Producers.

We recognize that it’s not always possible for producers to have livestock handling facilities accessible at each location livestock are housed. For this reason, a former livestock agent purchased several 12 foot corral panels and gates with intentions of these being available for rental to the community. Time passed, and this goal fell to the wayside. Fortunately, the funding received from AgSouth will allow for purchase of a panel trailer, making rental of the panels and gates accessible to a larger population. This trailer will also make the entire rental process easier, as the equipment will be much easier to load, unload, transport, and store.

The N.C. Cooperative Extension, Stokes County Center team is grateful for AgSouth’s support of this project and our programs as a whole. Our relationships with our community partners are invaluable. We hope to have the trailer and panels available for rental this summer. Stay tuned for updates!
