Lunch and Learn Webinar Series

Companion Planting and Cover Crops

June 9 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Join CEFS and N.C. Cooperative Extension for the Lunch & Learn Webinar Series for 2026.

Melissa Bell, CEFS Field Research, Education, and Outreach Liaison, will discuss how companion planting helps harness natural processes to build a healthier farm or garden. Placing plants strategically can facilitate pollination and provide an inviting habitat for beneficial insects. Cover crops play an integral role in nurturing our living soil environment, cycling nutrients and improving soil fertility.
This session provides an overview of cultural practices and traditional wisdom about the beneficial pairing of plants and varieties and the benefits of cover crops for any season and scale.
Rethink your farm or garden layout and maximize productivity while minimizing inputs. This session is suitable for all growers interested in sustainable soil management and plant biodiversity.
